Hello fellow quarantined humans! As you probably know by now, (unless, of course, you live under a rock) the COVID-19 pandemic is a phenomenon has changed the way millions of people – from all over the world – are living their lives. As a teen, it can be really easy to get caught up in how terrifying this whole situation is. Despite this, God has been constantly reassuringly me that he is in control, despite my anxiety and fears. This week, he put 1 Peter 5:7 on my heart, which says “Cast all you anxiety on him because he cares for you.” This verse has given me so much reassurance – I mean knowing that the God of the Universe is looking out for me? That’s just insane!
That being said, as a high school student, the hardest transition to this “pandemic lifestyle” has been the adjustment to online school (I talked a little bit about that in last week’s post) And, as wonderful as not having to follow school dress code has been, I’ve worn sweatpants at least 4 times this week, and I find myself wanting a more “put together” and stylish look. So without further ado, here are 5 outfits that will keep you feeling both stylish and comfortable while working with home, using 1 pair of sweatpants!
The Tank and Statement Jacket Combo
I’m in love with this corduroy jacket! Its so comfortable and also makes such a statement. I like how it adds a new color (tan) to the outfit, as well as a new texture.
The Striped Tee
This tee is so cute, with the V neckline and the pink and blue stripes add a pop of color to the outfit. It’s also more comfortable than a tee shirt, so I consider it an all around win. You can’t really see it in the picture, but there’s the tee is ribbed, so it also adds some new textures as well.
The Band Tee
Country music will always have a special place in my heart, especially classics like George Strait. I actually thrifted this tee, and I wear it literally all the time. I love how the tee kind of corresponds with the vans, which lately has been my go-to shoe.
The (Classic) Sweater
This sweater gives me major “sipping pumpkin spice lattes while watching leaves fall outside” type vibes. I love the criss-cross pattern on the back because it adds just a little extra pizzazz. It’s also white so it goes with basically any outfit you can think of.
This cardigan is an all time favorite. I just love that it’s so comfortable and cute at the same time. I love the little criss-cross patterns on the sides, and it has pockets!!! which never happens. Also the muted tones kind of gives the entire outfit a more sophisticated vibe…and I’m literally just wearing sweatpants.
I paired my George Strait tee with a windbreaker from my high school swim team, because school spirit lives on (yes, it survives social distancing) I think it adds some really great dimension to the entire outfit, and also incorporates a really cool trend I’ve been seeing lately.
Thank y’all so much for reading my post! I know these past few weeks/months have been difficult for all of us, and please let me know in the comments below if there is any way I can pray for you.
